Chemistry Learning

Abstract
Understanding the concept of chemistry will be more easily contextualized with natural
phenomena, community culture and daily life (ethnochemistry). This study aims to map the
biological natural resources in East Kalimantan as materials in the development of chemistry
learning. This study uses ethnographic methods to obtain comprehensive, broad and in-depth
information on the ethnochemistry of the people of East Kalimantan. Data were collected
through interviews, documentation, and literature study, and analyzed descriptively. The
results of this study, in the form of mapping the biological natural resources used by the
people of East Kalimantan as food ingredients, food seasonings, medicines, preservatives,
dyes, and cosmetics that can be used as analogies and representations in learning chemistry in
schools.
