Marketing


                 Prior to 1990 the marketing effort had lacked control or

                 direction.  Despite this and its failure to position correctly
                 the Country Court Hotels it did record some successes.

                 The assessment of this activity is problematical and should

                 be set on the dividing line.


                 By 1995 Marketing was more professional. Its cost

                 structures had been reviewed and tailored to meet the

                 demands of the customer rather than the management.

                 Its contribution became a strong positive one.
