Brainstorming procedures are divided into two categories
which are: creating the ideas and evaluating the ideas that
were contributed.
 Process flow diagram: one of the most often used and
powerful tools in the quality improvement process. A
process flow diagram is a road map of the process.
Specifically, a process flow diagram illustrates and or
clarifies events tasks in a process and the events/ tasks
between them. It assists in highlighting:
1) the present situation,
2) the differences between what should/ is thought to be
happening and the actual situation,
3) the proposed situation, and
4) any potential problem areas.
 Pareto chart: the Pareto analysis is a chart based on the
Pareto principle. Today it could be noticed that 80% of our
problems in the hospital or the office can be traced to20% of
the causes. The Pareto analysis is a process of ranking
opportunities so we can determine which should be pursued
first. Pareto analysis should be used at various stages in a
quality improvement program to determine which step to
