with people’s artists who were with us previously, such as Grup
Yorum, the Idil Culture Centre, Otekiler (Those Who Are Be-
yond) Culture And Art Centre, and with Kazova workers we cre-
ated the Kavoza Resistance Culture And Art Committee. We
decided its first work would be to hold a film festival in the occu-
pied factory. Up to the present in our country, film theatres were
closed to workers’ film festivals and so did not reach the workers.
In order to criticise this, we, the Kazova Resistance Culture And
Art Committee, established the first KAZOVA DAYS OF RESIST-
ANCE FILM FESTIVAL.
The film
festival would
last three days
and we began it
by gathering on
Sisli Square.
With musical ac-
companiment
from Ritim Is-
tanbul, we car-
ried our banners through the streets of Sisli until we arrived in
front of the occupied factory. Our worker friends lit fires in the
street of the factory and roasted corn on the cob while our worker
friends and our people who never left us watched documentaries
and films on the subject of factory occupations.
In the meantime, we put in a writ of sequestration for the
machines in the factory. It was sufficient for one of our friends
from the resistance to be there and another was also appointed,
