THE KAZOVA RESISTANCE STARTS…
The Kazova Resistance as described by Kazova workers…
Kaya abi, who worked with textiles, was a Yuruyus reader.
From reading the magazine, he followed the resistance of Turkan
Albayrak, and that if we resist we will get our rights. So he decided
to contact the Devrimci Isci Hareketi (DIH, Revolutionary Work-
ers’ Movement). Kaya abi had learned from a soldier friend that
the DIH carried on work and started to look for them. Other
friends who had been thrown out of work referred to them. They
had said that they could get us access to lawyers working for free.
A little while later DIH called Kaya abi (“older brother” –
term of respect for an older male in Turkey) and sent the message
that they wanted to meet. We arranged a meeting. The meeting
