LEADERSHIP AND MANAGERS
It’s imperative that all Managers understand the importance of a crisis management strategy and understand
their role in reporting and managing a crisis, as well as the preventative measures that should be taken to
reduce the risk of a crisis or emergency from occurring in the first place.
All current Managers will become familiar with the Crisis Management and Emergency Guide – Manager
Version and the accompanying tools through the new Crisis Training eCourse.
All newly promoted or new hire GMs must (re)review this Guide as well as retake the Crisis Training
eCourse as part of their new-role onboarding.
All new Managers must complete the Crisis Training eCourse prior to their first training shift in a store.
All Managers must be familiar with the proper use of the fire extinguishers.
TEAM MEMBERS
To ensure our stores are in compliance with OSHA, all Team Members must be aware of general safety
procedures, as well as how to handle the most common crisis situations they may encounter. In addition, they
must be trained on how to prevent a fire, as well as how to respond if necessary. All of this training is included
in new Team Member onboarding.
BOMB THREAT
All FOH Team Members or any Team Member who may answer the phone should be familiar with the bomb
threat procedures. This is critical because these individuals will usually receive the first phone call. He/she
may be rattled if a call comes in, but it’s imperative that this person remains calm and does his/her best to be
aware of everything that is happening on the call in order to capture the information. Reviewing the procedures
will help prepare these Team Members.
MEDIA INQUIRIES
All FOH Team Members should be aware of the process to follow if they receive a media inquiry via the phone,
or if they are approached by a reporter or camera crew. Send reporter information via email to April Spearman
(april_spearman@daveandbusters.com) and follow up with a call or text (214.684.5001).
CRIME
Whether it’s an active shooter, workplace violence or any other crime, the Team Member who is stationed at
the Front Desk is one of the most likely people to notice someone or something suspicious. If anything raises a
concern, the first thing he/she needs to do is get a Manager immediately. Awareness of the surroundings is
key to preventing a situation.
