Royal River Chorus (continued)
Visual communications leader, Andi, introduces new daughter Carolina to Royal River Chorus.
For our two newest Royal River members, this will be their first contest. And, thanks to the pandemic, for
two other members who already have been scooped up for management team, music team and “other
duties,” this is only their second contest. So excitement, apprehension and expectations are high. Our
visual communication plan is coming along and working well so far. When polishing our two contest
songs, sectionals and recordings sent to section leads have been productive in helping us to tweak
interpretation and vocal alignment. Optional mask removal to sing through the competition set at the end
of recent rehearsals has been well received, allowing us to hear the consistent improvement in our overall
vocal quality and sound. And guess what? We still can sing!
We’re pleased that requests for bookings are beginning to come in for performances that will happen
throughout the summer and fall. We’re hoping that starts momentum that carries us straight into the
holidays. Royal River had a very full calendar booked for 2020 that never saw the light of day, and we’re
so looking forward to gearing up once again for all those great singing opportunities.
Singing brings joy, and boy oh boy, do we all need joy. So, as each of you discovers, as we have, that,
yes indeed, you still can sing...bring joy!
