Sound of New England Chorus

Happy Spring, everyone! It's been so joyous to see the grass greening and the daffodils bravely blooming in
the "still chilly" late winter temperatures. We here at Sound of New England are ready for the renewal of
energy epitomized by the vibrancy of Spring! During the winter we continued rehearsals at Bethany
Lutheran Church where we have been graciously welcomed while we continue to seek a more permanent
rehearsal space. Our sessions contain a mixture of vocal and physical warm ups plus work on new music
and " dusting off" of existing repertoire. We start with "Good News" from anyone who would care to share
something good that happened to them since our last meeting. We end the evenings with our personal
"word for the week". Not surprisingly many of the words we choose deal with hope, perseverance, and
gratitude. As a farewell for the night together, we join in How We Sang Today. We are live streaming our
rehearsals on Facebook for our members who may not be able to make it in person.

Many of us were able to take part in Winter Regional classes. We want to thank Region One management
team for putting together a varied, knowledgeable faculty of presenters who provided stimulating topics. It
will be absolutely wonderful when we can return to a mask-less environment when Covid has been mostly
mitigated. Can you imagine a hall filled with wonderful mask-less women singing in joy?? That will be
amazing!!
