MEASURING
SUCCESS
am now in year eight of my entrepreneurial journey. While I worked in a
professional office setting for over 30 years, I never thought of owning my own
business. I was busy being a wife, mother of five, and a daughter caring for her

with dreams of creating and implementing new ways to help others. Not just clients,
but other businesses as well. These dreams have helped me to get out of my comfort
zone and continually expand my services, products, and business endeavors.
While my focus is on the management of the 3P’s of life, possessions,
paper, and photos, I prioritize helping my clients and associates to feel
heard without judgement. It is a strong human need to be accepted for who
we are and what we believe. By connecting on this deeper level, I believe
we can create a connected caring community going way beyond the
services and products we offer. This has become the foundation for all I
do and one of my measures of success.
I started out as Your Organized Friend, a single proprietor, working
from my kitchen table. Each year has seen me develop and expand
services. Growing into a business that now occupies a 1000 sq. ft. store
front and employs a small team of specialists in the areas of photo
management, senior moving, paper filing systems, and organizing
homes and businesses. Recognizing a marketplace need three years
ago saw the creation of my second business, Treasured Photo
Collections, providing custom photo service solutions for families
and businesses who want to save and share their history through
stories and photos. Working with digital and printed photos, we
help preserve stories for years to come. This continued growth is
another measure of success.
I also measure success through the ability to recognize
possible pitfalls and failures, hopefully before they happen.
Experience is a wonderful teacher when we realize that is the
best way to become an expert! And I certainly have made my
share of mistakes along the way. We need to stop looking at
failure as a bad word and recognize it as a growth experience.
A great tool for measurable values of business success
is ensuring that the products and services you offer are in
alignment with your values, mission, and vision statement.
A great tool for life success is living in alignment with your
values and creating a personal mission and vision statement.
