s the proud proprietor of the upscale treasure trove of distinctive clothing and accessories
known as Caprice Consignment, my motto’s always been when the going gets tough,
the tough go shopping! I recently made that much more achievable in today’s world
Aby expanding online, making our extensive selection of fabulous one-of-a-kind finds
accessible everywhere. Much to the delight of the avid fans who follow our popular, in-person,
weekday Facebook Live videos, all the showcased new must-haves are available internationally!
Focusing more on making a difference rather than just a sale, I deeply enjoy the intrinsic rewards
of retail therapy, creating a magically inviting ambiance that allows women the freedom to express
their individuality dressing to please themselves without anyone’s judgement or approval. It’s not
so much how does this outfit make you look, but how does it make you FEEL? My innovative
personal style program, The Business of Empowered Dressing, is based on “enclothed cognition”, the
proven psychological influence clothes have on us, actually improving our attitude and our
performance. The program’s three tenets, confidence, uniqueness, and trust in your
instincts, are just as integral to success in fashion as in life.

I have always believed in broadening my horizons to bring our valued
customers unexpected benefits by partnering with other business experts
like travel design specialist Mary Webber. Together, we run our travel club,
Caprice Girls On the Go. Monthly in-store meetings, often enhanced by
fashions shows, are filled with like-minded camaraderie, travel tips, and
tantalizing destinations like our current offering, a trip to Italy and the
Amalfi coast. Women’s networking at its most inventive, Success Soirées for
the Wise and Adventurous Businesswoman is a bi-monthly online event I
co-host with humorist and marketing innovator Zandra Bell. Each episode
features a different theme, a suggested fashion statement, and an amazing
array of speakers.
Very close to my heart is my passion project, The Sharing Closet
Society of Alberta, a non-profit dedicated to providing low-
income seniors with donated clothing along with education
and inspiration through no-cost workshops on relevant
topics. Consignment clothing marketing is an art form and a
responsibility, so I champion the efforts of NARTS, the world›s
largest resale trade association, in building public recognition of
resale shopping’s many advantages. The first Canadian ever on
their Board of Directors, I am currently NARTS Vice-President. Dress like you mean it.
There’s always something intriguing happening at Caprice: a
speaker, a celebration, or another much-anticipated arrival of
consigned covetables.
