Collaboration over
Competition in Edmonton’s
Entrepreneurial Community
f there is one word that best describes Dr. Kara Otuomagie, it would be
community. Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta Dr. Otuomagie is
dedicated to assisting her patients with their personal and professional
I goals at her multi-disclipinary chiropractic practice, Kinetic Living, of
which she solely founded after eight years of practice in 2019.
Dr. Otuomagie always knew that she wanted to be a part of something that
made a difference in the lives of others, and she found her passion in doing
so after suffering from a life-changing sports injury as an elite athlete. Dr.
Otuomagie completed her Bachelor of Science at the University of Alberta and
went on to attend the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College and McMaster
University receiving her Chiropractic and acupuncture designations respectively.
In her practice, she treats sports injuries: anything from sprains and strains to low
back and neck pain. With a focus on exercise rehabilitation, she isn’t your average
Chiropractor, for her “treatment goes beyond the treatment room.”

sharing her passion for philanthropy chairing the Events Committee of the Stollery
Women’s Network and on the board of advisors of the Stollery Children’s Hospital
Foundation. With her love for all things brunch she founded the ever popular ‘Ladies Who
Brunch’, now four years running that has raised over $50,000 for the Stollery Women’s
Network in support of the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation. And when she isn’t
indoors, you can find this nature lover climbing mountains and running all the miles in
Edmonton’s majestic River Valley, if you can keep up of course!
“Togetherness as a community here in Edmonton has allowed us to pivot and shift during
these trying pandemic times. Our local businesses, are made up of a vibrant network of people
who come together to make Edmonton great. Collaboration over competition is the driving
force behind the ability to thrive as an entrepreneur here in Edmonton, it’s the realization that
we can thrive together; we can watch one another accomplish amazing things while doing what
we love at the same time. There isn’t anything more rewarding than witnessing a locally owned
business do well, it brings a smile to my face every single time. Success for me is having the
ability to positively impact someone’s life, in a way that is genuine and authentic to both who they
are and who you are as a person. It truly comes down to how much you care; it's the willingness to
want to better yourself and those who surround you in your community.”
