                                                  REMEMBERING


            Truth to Teach (Source)

                Psalm 111:4       ‘He (God) has caused his wonders to be remembered; …’


                Proverbs 3:1      ‘My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in our
                                  heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you

                                  prosperity.’

                  Good, wholesome teaching should be remembered and must often therefore be
                    revised.


                  Review of Y3 teaching on nouns and verbs.

                  Re-envision the children regarding the importance of using correct words when
                    we speak and write to serve our listeners and readers.


            Way to Work (Means)

                1.  Read the above verses and talk about the importance of remembering good

                    teaching from the past, not only from assemblies but also from the various
                    lessons. Talk about the necessity of revising/reviewing.

                2.  Ask the children what a noun is and which different kinds of nouns there are: -


                                     •  Common nouns
                                     •  Proper nouns
                                     •  Singular nouns
                                     •  Plural nouns

                                     •  Collective nouns

                3.  Put some nouns on the board then ask the children to add suitable verbs to
                    make a sentence. Remind them that a sentence can have just two words in but

                    it must make sense.

                                      •  Pigs grunt
                                      •  Birds sing

                                      •  Monkeys climb
                                      •  Hedgehogs hibernate
