4. Let the children change these sentences into the past tense then the future
tenses of the verb.

5. Remind them of the verb ‘to be’ and how it can stand alone in a sentence or
serve other verbs, eg

I am nine. You were in school.
I was helping you yesterday. We will be going home soon,

6. Remind the children of using correct or appropriate words to serve their
readers and listeners.
7. Let the children try the worksheet or write sentences of their own given the
nouns.
More able children could be asked to write sentences with more than one verb

in them and/or in different tenses.

8. If time allows, gather back to share sentences the children have written.

1. The children should have revised the Y3 work on nouns and verbs.

2. They will recognise the importance of remembering good, wholesome teaching.
