The present day, Alonzo sits down with Yvette -- reviewing and going over
their family situation. They review, explore and identify ways to minimize expenses
without disrupting Yvette’s classes while Alonzo looks for suitable employment.
Their conversations also center on Yvette visiting her mother in Kansas City when
school lets out at the end of the semester. During the discussion, he recaps to Yvette
the importance of staying on task and on a budget. Yvette -- among other things --
agrees to cut down her consumption of Mocha Frappuccino-blended coffee, from

fine print -- that the tickets are non-refundable. And, after numerous attempts, he
comes to the ugly realization that he either takes the vacation and travels alone to
the Caribbean or forfeits the vacation package.
