employment mishap, he suggests that Alonzo look up and forward his resume to a
never-before heard of Foundation in Alpharetta, GA. He proceeds to inform Alonzo
that, from a very reliable source, the Foundation is seeking someone with the type of
background that Alonzo just described. Alonzo expresses his appreciation for the
engaging conversation and job lead. Soon, they arrive at the airport and Alonzo bids
farewell and safe trip to the passenger. The gentleman bids Alonzo farewell and good
luck with his job search. And Alonzo pulls away from the South Terminal -- heading
to West Virginia Avenue -- another of his downtime spot while he waits for rider
request around the airport.
Later that evening -- while in his suite -- he vaguely remembers all the
information from Wendell, but thank goodness for the Internet. A handful foundation
names popup as he types “foundations near Atlanta.” Though exhausted from his
usual 12-hour shift -- that evening -- Alonzo uses his laptop to update his resume,
drafts a cover letter, and forwards an electronic PDF version of the resume, cover
letter and a list of three references to an email address on the Foundation Website.
Then he spends another half hour -- perrusing the Internet -- with hopes of
finding other possible job listings, but nothing matching his talent, background or
skills. He glances at the time at the bottom right corner of his laptop -- it’s late and
well past his awake time -- he returns to his email Browser, and still nothing; then he
logs off
