"Mr. Thomas, this is Debra Carter with McDaniel Family Foundation." The
Caller pauses, then continues. "... Is this a good time to talk?"

Alonzo's face eases into an expression of relief after the caller identifies
herself. "Yes ... Yes, I can talk."

"Great. I am calling from the HR Department." "My apologies, Mr. Thomas ..."
the shuffling sound of papers comes through the speakers. "The Foundation would
like to extend an offer of employment for the executive director position."

"Fabulous --"

"-- Awesome. I take it you're still interested in the position," Debra concludes.

"Yes, very much so," he replies with enthusiasm.

"Very well, Mr. Thomas." She continues, "what's your schedule look like
tomorrow, preferably before lunch?"

"I am available around eleven o'clock."

"I'd like for you to come in for an orientation and screening."

"That is fabulous. Eleven works for me."

"Wonderful. I am sending an Offer letter and instructions ...” she pauses to

verify his email address. "... Is the email address on your app still current?"
