bathroom. He shaves and takes a well-deserved warm shower. Clean-shaven and
wearing a light-gray linen single-breasted complete suit, a pale blue shirt with
matching tie, and a pair of black shoes, he gathers his article of clothing from last into
the garment cover, takes his laptop briefcase, and checks out. With the GPS App on
his smartphone, he locates and heads to his favorite breakfast joint for pancakes and
omelet.
An hour and half later, Alonzo arrives at The McDaniel Family Foundation for
his appointment. He parks, unzips the leather briefcase, retrieves a padfolio, and
tucks the briefcase behind the front passenger seat and out of sight. Then he steps
out of his Jeep, shuts the door, and heads to the Foundation’s Main entrance.
At the Lobby, he stops and checks in with the Security Desk. Later -- and
following the direction -- he takes the elevator to the second floor, and he sees a
direction to the Human Resources Department. He steps out of the elevator and
follows the sign. Inside the Receptionist Area, "Good morning. How can I be of
assistance?" a friendly HR Assistant greets him.
"Good morning. I have an eleven o'clock with Debra Carter."
The HR Assistant looks at her schedule, "Mr. Alonzo Thomas?" she asks with
a welcoming smile.
"Yes, I am Alonzo."
The HR Assistant -- getting up -- "I’m CARMEN, Mrs. Carter’s assistant.
Extending her hand, “Come on in, Sir ... We've been expecting you."
"Thank you," while shaking her hand.
