a cure for dementia, sickle cell anemia, or a cure for hunger, especially since we live
in the richest country, yet they are millions of Americans who go hungry every day
and homeless. What do you do? Better yet, what would you like your legacy to be?
Are you just contented -- simply clocking in and clocking out -- day in and day out?

Whatever your passion … Stay abreast of the latest trends and best practices.
Strive to be the best you can be by getting engaged and involved in activities --
community/social affairs -- including, but not limited to, PTSA (parent, teacher and

student association), Little League coach or cheerleader, volunteering with the
American Red Cross, joining and participating in the AFP (Association of Fundraising
Professionals), and/or establishing an NPO (nonprofit organization) to address and
arrest a social problem. And give it your all.

True, it won’t be easy; others will try to discourage and pull you down. But
stay focused and persevere more for your time and effort will eventually pay off.
Remember, if it were easy everyone will be at the top and successful. Success takes a

whole lot of networking, hard work, ingenuity, creativity, and a ton of humility. The
good news here is that everyone is endowed with the uniqueness and capacity to be
great; however, if you don’t invest the time, resources and energy into that passion
of yours, uniqueness or capacity will amount to nothing. So, what’s your passion? Are

you going to use it, or lose it?

Always put this into perspective: No organization hires you because they like

you; rather the employer is only interested in what you’re bringing to the table.
The following suggestions -- writing from a personal experience -- don’t get caught

in stupor, regardless of the situation! Unfortunately, and often, we lose motivation
to move forward, especially when we find ourselves in a situation that we never
fathom which could happen to any one of us.
