To Be a Christian
This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved
you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s
friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. I do not call
you servants any longer, because the servant does not know what the
master is doing; but I have called you friends, because I have made
known to you everything that I have heard from my Father.

DO NOT PROFESS TO BE HOLIER THAN THOU. NEITHER DO I CLAIM TO BE
an Altar boy. In fact, I’m flawed by sin. I’m a sinner; like you, I’m made up of
flesh. For example, I couldn’t help but stare at a beautiful sister who
majestically walked pass Study Room 3D of the library while I was conducting
research for this chapter. For a moment, I was consumed in admiring how she walked
elegantly and in measured steps; and I bet she could surmise that I was captivated
by her petite figure and style. Though I’m not proud of that, Jah Jehovah Knows that
I’m working at it -- each day -- to be free of my transgressions and inadequacies.
However, returning to the above Sermon, the crux of Christ message to us is
summarized in the first sentence of this passage -- that we are to love each other as
