BYLAWS

ARTICLE I: NAME

The name of this organization shall be Alpha Kappa Omega Chapter of
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. This alumnae chapter,
chartered December 18, 1928, in Houston, Harris County, Texas is
located in the South Central Region.

ARTICLE II: PURPOSE

The purpose of this organization shall be to promote the general
programs and ideals of the parent body as stated in the Constitution and
Bylaws of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated as follows:

The purpose of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority is to cultivate and
encourage high scholastic and ethical standards, to promote unity and
friendship among college women, to study and help alleviate problems
concerning girls and women in order to improve the social stature, to
maintain a progressive interest in college life, and to be of service to all
mankind.

ARTICLE III: ORGANIZATION

Section 1. The membership of Alpha Kappa Omega Chapter is the
local governing body. The chapter shall be subordinate to its parent
organization, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

Section 2. The Executive Committee shall serve as the
administrative division of Alpha Kappa Omega Chapter.
