To Protect our heritage
• To do all in our power to perpetuate the organization
• To stand by Alpha Kappa Alpha in every undertaking
• To bring honor to Alpha Kappa Alpha
• To live up to the ideals of the organization
• To live and revere the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority
• To refrain from any expression of ill will
• To hold high, the ideals and purposes
• To give willingly of our time and talents
• To render service to all mankind
• To obey the laws governing Alpha Kappa Alpha
• To render assistance to any soror at all times

RITUALISTIC MANDATES
• To keep private, the business of Alpha Kappa Alpha
• To dress appropriately for all special ceremonies, (i.e., wear
solid white dresses or suits for initiations and memorial
services, etc.)
• To observe Founders’ Day annually
• To wear our symbol (the pin) close to the heart
• To keep secret, the manner of initiation, etc.
• To wear the symbols of Alpha Kappa Alpha with pride
• To preserve a sense of dignity during all rituals, (i.e., follow
directions, observe rules of solemnity, refrain from
distracting conversations, etc.)
• To walk continuously in integrity
