14 3. In Rule D9 delete the entire rule and replace with:
a. (9) FOOT FAULTING
(a) In all disciplines only players at the delivery end and umpires can call foot
faults.
(b) Once a foot fault is called, any player at the head end shall stop the bowl and remove
it clear of the rink mat, except in singles where this shall be done by the Marker.
4. In Rules C7a, E6a, E6c, and F3 (2 instances) replace the word ‘wood’ with the word
“bowl”.
5. In Rules D2c, E2d, E3f, E4c, and F3 replace the word “bowled” with the word “deliv-
ered”
6. In Rule F8c replace the word “bowled with the words “delivered any bowls”
7. In Rule E3f delete the word “until the opposing Second has bowled all their bowls”
with the
8. words “until both Seconds have delivered all their bowls”

Ed - Don’t have a rule book? No worries as the ESMBA apparently intend to give every
registered player a rule book. The next step is of course to get players to read AND ES-
PECIALLY to understand it. If you ever have any queries ask an Umpire to explain it
not just a club member. Better still ask several Umpires as you may get differing opin-
ions on some rules.
