It was a very close run tournament but last year’s
winners, Bishops Nympton retained the trophy, win-

win of 24 - 0, that included a seven on one end.
They followed this up with an 8 - 6, 11 - 6 and a final
winning game of 9 - 6.
The 2nd prize was taken by The Drifters;
they also won all their games and gained a 33 shots

Their next game was won 14 - 6, the third game 12

they lost end 5 to 7 in a 4 - 1 - 4 sequence that proved
decisive in the overall result, coming second by just
one shot.
All in all, a very successful day, all teams arrived
in good team for the “off” and the tournament ran very
smoothly.
Thank you to Jeanie and her helpers in the
kitchen, I am sure the delicious food served up helps
to make this annual tournament the success it is.
The presentation of the trophies was made by Jeanie
Sheppard, chairman of Merton SMBC.
