10 Wales take “A” Pairs
The Welsh pair of Cennydd & Dafydd Howell set their
stall out by giving a 16 - 6 roasting to Ireland’s Don
& Paul McNamara, whilst England’s Philip Warr &
Dave Studden did even better against their Scottish
opponents 27 - 12.
In their second game and despite a lead of 11
8 at one stage the England Pair were eventually
beaten 14 - 8 by the Welsh Pair, who scored three
shots over the closing two ends. In the other game
Ireland had a comfortable 18 - 7 win over Scotland.
“A” Pairs Champions In the final round Cennydd & Dafydd Howell
Cennydd & Dafydd Howell duly wrapped up their unbeaten Pairs Championship
run with a romping 27 - 7 win over Scotland.
Ireland Also wrapped up second place with a 19 - 11win over Scotland.

In the opening round of the Triples the Welsh trio
of Anthony Poole, Alan Edwards & Chris Holder
handed out a 21 - 12 thumping to England’s Luke
Jolly, Vincent Odornihan & Elise Daniell who
saved their blushes with five shots over the last
two ends.
Ireland’s Sid Hazley, Nick & Nathan Haire
were given a fright by Scotland’s J. Marchbank,
G. Harrington & K. Rile, with the Irish Triple
scraping home 15 - 14.
in the second round the Irish were once
again being pushed hard, this time by the Welsh “A” Triples Champions
but two two’s on the closing ends gave them a 17 Sid Hazely, Nicky Haire, Nathan Haire
- 13 victory. England Meanwhile from 4 - 3 won
the next ten ends scoring 22 shots in the process resulting in a 26 - 5 win.
In the third and final round the Irish com-
pleted their unbeaten championship run
with a 19 - 11 win over England, whilst
Wales beat Scotland 16 - 8.

In the Fours first round the Irish Four of
Gavin Blakey, Joe McKnight, Jack Mof-
fett, Kyle Blakey started off like a Rocket
with a 23 - 1 result over Scotland.
“A” Triples Runners-up The other first round game was a

Foursome of Nigel Thomas, Darren Davies, Henry John & Warren Turner scoring a 9 - 7 win over
England’s Anthony Fautley, Richard Jeffrey, Gill Cawrse & Nadine Bailey. In the second round a
shell-shocked England four lost 21 - 6 to Ireland after losing the first 8 ends and being 16 - 0 down.
Wales Finished off their game with Scotland scoring a full house six to win25 - 5.
In the final round the Irish wrapped the title up with a 16 - 10 win over Wales. In England’s last
game at one stage they led Scotland 10 - 2 but three ends later the scores were level at 10 all but
the English four then lifted their game again and finally won 16 - 10.
