The third round saw the Conroy’s facing Scotland’s G. Riley & M. Patterson and it was 7
going to take a miracle to stop the Irish duo from taking the title but this didn’t happen as
the result was never in doubt with the Conroy’s winning 25 - 4.
The other game saw England and Wales fighting it out for second place and it turned out to
be an almighty battle in the end. At the half-way stage of the eighteen ends, England’s Craig
Strong & Jon Pitcher led 10 - 4 and things were looking good. Back came Arwel Morgan & Michael
john and after 15 ends were just 11 - 12 down another two ends and they had levelled at 13 all
with just the last end to play. This was completed in mounting excitement but the English Pair held
their nerve and were relieved to score a single for a 14 - 13 victory in a very hard fought game,
giving the English duo the runner-up spot.

but by the thirteenth end the Welsh had clawed their way
back to 10 all but two Singles to the Irish snatched them Two of the Premier Triples
           a 12 - 10 win. Champions Mark Beattie and

a single on the opening end but two three’s later they were 1

                                      by winning the Fours Title
The opening round in the Triples was an England v Wales match, which these days generally de-
cides who comes second to the Irish but in this event it was not to be. For England, Adam East-
hope, Alan Williams, Lee Toleman & Ross Dunkley started with a single on the opening end but
two three’s later they were 1 - 6 down to Wales’ Ben Jackson, Chris McWhinnie, Andrew Jones &
Nick Evans. They gradually fought back and eventually got to 10 all with just two ends to play but
the Welsh Triple struck with a three and then held the English to a single shot on the last end and
           thus won 13 - 11.
