- 3. The final was a hotly contested one and ended up 7 all but on the extra end Chris
Whyte couldn’t prevent Joan Golding scoring a single for an 8 - 7 victory.
In the Triples Quarter finals, a sequence of eight shots over five ends by Patricia
Mee, Linda Peerless & Rita Keeley gave them an 8 - 4 win over Roy Matthews, Ray
Williamson & Wendy Lewis. A last end two from Mike Singleton, Tony & Ros Shepherd
gave them a 6 - 5 win and progression to the Semi’s. Brian Rust, David & Barbara
French had a comfortable 10 - 3 win over Melanie Stevens, Mark & Jenny Worrall. Brian
Fowler, David & Carol Gilraine also had a comfortable victory, 9 - 2 over John Mee,
Denis Peerless & Graham Keeley.
The Gilraine trio then managed an 11 - 2 win over Brian Rust, David & Barbara
French. Patricia Mee, Linda Peerless & Rita Keeley were 5 - 7 down against Mike Sin-
gleton, Tony & Ros Shepherd but then took three consecutive singles for an 8 - 7 win.
In the final Brian Fowler, David & Carol Gilraine found themselves 3 - 5 against Patricia
Mee, Linda Peerless & Rita Keeley but with a four and a two and eventually won 10 - 6.
In the Pairs Quarters Rodney Kendrick & Jeanette Richards had a runaway 11 - 1
win over Roy Eade & Chris Scott but this was not as big as the 14 - 1 from Chris & Mar-
garet Whyte over Brian Hall & Dee Beresford.
