Finished on top of group “A”, having lost just one game along the way. In second place 7
and also making it to the semi-finals, Wales’ Cennydd & Dafydd Howell who also lost just
one game but dropped a point in a drawn match along the way.
Group “B” proved to be a very competitive group. Joel & Jonas Hager lost just one game
and duly won the group but three pairs finished on ten points Thus it came down to shots difference
and Ireland had the best plus at 76 so Sean & Kevin Conroy duly took the last semi-final place.
With the winners of each group facing the runners up in the other group, this threw up an all-
Ireland semi-final and boy what a game, after fourteen of the fifteen ends the two pairs were level
at 11 al and on the final end the Conroy’s managed a single to take them into the final at 12 - 11.
The other semi-final was equally close with Gary McNabb & Gerard Conway locked in battle
with Joel & Jonas Hager at 9 all with just the last end to play but in the end it was the Swedish pair
who reached the final with a last end three for a 12 - 9 victory. The final was expected to be very
close and hard fought affair but in the end the Swedish pair were in outstanding form and easily
recorded a win with ends still to play.

The group “A” Triples started off with a bang when England’s Adam Smith, Ryan Knight & Danny
Langford’ faced Ireland’s Jordan Rankin, Martin McNicholl & Stuart McSorley. They were Unfortu-
nate to meet so early in the tournament and it was the England trio who basically took charge
game and won 12 - 6.
Norway’s Rune Lifjeld, Tom Erik Johnsen & Kai A. Holte beat Belgium’s Freddy Danel, Erwin
Vanlangenakker & Tonny Francois 13 - 9. Completing the opening round, Wales’ Ben Jackson,
Chris McWinnie & Andrew Jones romped home 23 - 1 against Canadian’s Andrew Harley, David
Anderson & Mitch O’Brien.
In group “B” the other Irish triple of Nigel McMullan, Edwin Irwin & Nigel Gamble also lost
their opening game 11 - 8, this time to Sweden’s Thomas Karlsson, Peter Sandqvist & Anders

England v Wales was a tight game up to the tenth end with England leading 9 - 8 but a stun-
ning five to Wales was followed with a two and finally won 15 - 10. The final match saw Norway’s
Kjetil Gronseth, Ann-Katrin Kristiansen & David Ryste beat Canada’s Bill & Louisa Arthur and
Nancy Fargo by 19 shots to 8.
