In the second round of group “A” Germany

played their first game and Andreas Hahn,
Erica & Annelie Wachholz gave the Irish
Triple quite a fright, with the Irish scoring
a four on the last end to win 12 - 10.
England beat Norway 16 - 5 and
Wales needed to score a two on the last
end to snatch a 12 - 11 victory over Swe-
den. The final game of the group saw Bel-
gium beat Canada 14 - 9.
In Group “B” Belgium played their
opening game, with Ils Belmans, Paula
Geens & Louis Helsen going down 13 - 5
to Ireland. After five ends England led 17 -
11 against Canada and finally won 27 - 7.
Sweden the beat Norway 15 - 7.
The last round of the day saw Ireland
“A” snatch a three on the last end to win
10 - 8 against Wales. England got the bet-
ter of Belgium 13 - 6 and Norway beat
Germany 16 - 10. In group “B” the roles
were reversed with Norway beating Bel-

against Sweden and romped home 21 - 4.
Another big score saw Wales beating Canada 34 - 1
and the first day was over. Two more rounds on the
second day was followed by a final round on Sunday.
When all the results were in England’s Adam Smith,
Ryan Knight & Danny Langdon were unbeaten on 14
points and easily won group “A”.
Three teams finished with 10 points and shots dif-
ference came into play, with Wales Ben Jackson, Chris
McWinnie & Andrew Jones taking second place. In

Taking second place and a semi-final spot were Eng-
land’s Ross Dunkley, Craig Strong & Adam Easthope.
This left an all-England Semi-final line-up and all-Wales
Semi-final line-up.
The latter turned out to be a one-sided affair with
