Wales, Dylan Johnson, Dafydd Jones, Phil
Ladd & Rob Evans opened up with cracking
14 - 8 win over the much fancied Irish four of
Paddy Hanlon, Liam, Keith & Colm McHugh,
this after an opening five that must have
shocked the Irish players.
Meanwhile, England’s Adam Easthope,
Allen Williams, Craig Strong & Ross Dunkley
were firmly dumped 18 - 7 by Scotland’s J.
Marchbank, S. Hiddleston, S. McDonald & J.
Broach, who include two fives in their score-

line. Both opening matches were a turnup for

and IIBA President Flo McNally
A second defeat followed for England,
as Ireland got their run back on track, coming from 8 - 9 with two ends to go they scored two
threes for a 14 - 9 win. Wales kept their winning run going but with a very narrow 9 - 8 victory
over Scotland. All Wales had to do in this third and final round was to beat England but the En-
glish trio finally got their act together to beat Wales 13 - 9 and the two shots the Welsh conceded
on the last end proved vital for the Irish. They scored a two on the last end to beat Scotland 13
- 8 and when all the shots were added up, Ireland won the rinks title by one shot!
