The Triples for Ireland
The opening round of the Triples saw Ire-
land’s Gavin Blakely, Jack Moffett & Kyle
Blakely cruise to a 19 - 12 win over England,
whilst Wales’ Henry John, Richard Prouse &
Richard Palmer needed a six on the 12th end
to put some distance between them and
Scotland, winning 16 - 11 in the end.
In round two, the welsh trio were locked
in battle with England at 14 all with just one
end to go but a four to Wales decided the
issue at 18 - 14. In the other match of the
round the Irish trio recorded their second Gordon, Ronnie & Raymond Stubbs
comfortable win by 19 - 8 over Scotland. with IIBA President Flo McNally
The third and final round saw Gavin Blakely, Jack Moffett & Kyle Blakely record their
biggest win by 19 - 6 at the expense of the Welsh Triple, finishing with eight shots over the clos-
ing three ends and wrapping up the Triples Title. England finished pointless after a 15 - 13 defeat
at the hands of Scotland’s M. Miskimming, J Pickthall & H. Little. England led 12 - 4 at one stage
but dropped eleven shots over the closing five ends.

The Irish Four Tom, William, Andrew & David Morrison opened their account by blowing away
their English opponents 12 - 2, losing just two ends along the way. Wales were given a much
harder time by Scotland, with Warren Turner, Alex William, Rhydian Rees & Nigel Thomas scor-
ing a two on the last end to win 12 - 10. In the Second round the Morrisons were in great form,
beating Scotland 19 - 4. In the other game the English four of Jason Woods, John Mills, Nathan
Bailey & Eric Pavey at last got their act together and romped home 16 - 5 against Wales.
