Ireland replied with a 12 - 1 from Adam Rankin, Gerry McNabb, Leigh Harrison & Ray-
mond Stubbs, plus a 16 - 4 from Joseph Beattie, Terry Crawford, Mark Wilson & Alan 7
Paul. Ireland also won the fourth game 10 - 4. Wales meanwhile were pushed quite hard
by Scotland and edged home 39 - 35. Best for Wales were Ben Jackson, Arwel Morgan, Mikey
             John & Luke Haddon with a 14 - 6 result. The best reply from Scotland was a 14 - 7 from K.
             Peacock, R, McNeil, M. Masson & S. Mc Donald.
Round 4 started all the return matches against each other, with Wales hoping to repeat
their victory against Ireland. Alas, the Irish had warmed up by now and were determined not to
lose again. In the end they won three games and drew the other for a 53 - 18 win. Their best re-
sult came from Mark Beatty, Paddy Hanlon, Stuart McSorley & Colm McHugh, who won17 - 6.
England lost two of the four rinks to an improving Scotland but still won 53 - 38, helped by a 15
             - 6 from Danny Langdon, Ryan Knight, Gary Best & Roger Wiggins.
Round 5 Saw Ireland duly despatch Scotland 73 - 18, including an 18 - 4 result from Mark
Beatty, Paddy Hanlon, Stuart McSorley & Colm McHugh. England were once again beaten by
Wales 34 - 29 in a very tight match with no big score individual score games. The sixth and final
round saw England once again losing to Ireland 51 - 31. The big games came from Niall Hand,
Jal Richardson, Gerard Conroy & John Quinn (19 - 4) and Joseph Beattie, Terry Crawford, Mark
Wilson & Alan Paul (17 - 3). England did win one rink 16 - 10 by Danny Langdon, Ryan Knight,
             Gary Best & Roger Wiggins.
Wales were certainly caught out losing their last match and may have been somewhat re-
laxed but Scotland certainly were not and won their two games by larger margins than the Welsh
             won their two. Scotland’s B. Fraser, B. McColm & J. Broatch won 12 - 7 and K. Peacock, R Mc-
             Neil, M. Masson & S. McDonald won 10 - 6.
