Charity Triples
Each year East Hanningfield
Bowls Club holds a Charity
Triples event with the pro-
ceeds going to Hearing Dogs
for the Deaf People.
The Hall is paid for and
donated by the East Han-
ningfield bowls club as a way
to increase the funds going to
charity. In our last competi-
tion we raised £450.00,
which brings the total do-

nated to around £14.500
since 1998.
This is a great achievement for small club and East Hanningfield would like to thank those
people who have helped to contributed over these past years. Hearing Dogs was launched at
the world Crufts dog show in 1982. Since then they have created over 1,600 life-changing part-
nerships between deaf people and hearing dogs in the UK. There are currently over 750 work-
ing partnerships in the country.
East Hanningfield donation is presented at Hayling Island to Barry and Mel Dillon who
run the Bowling Holidays. Barry and
Mel pass on the donation together
with funds they have raised to the
Hearing Dogs Charity.
This year's competition we had
14 teams divided into two groups with
the winner of each group going
through to the final. Group A was

ence of 13 shots to 5. with Club Chairman Paul Cairns.
East Hanningfield Windmills were runner way winners of Group B with 12pts and + 57
shots and Friends of Essex coming second with 7pts and +11 shots.
The final was a cat and mouse game between GPCA and East Hanningfield Windmills,
GPCA came out on top winning by 8 shots to 4.
Congratulations go out to GPCA consisting of Ian Authur, Mark Saunders and skipping
was Anthony Fautley. East Hanningfield Windmills team consisting of Rachel Cordy, Paul Bax
and Steve Killington fought hard but came up short at the final hurdle.
Albeit this year's competition was slightly down on numbers everyone enjoyed themselves
and some excellent bowling was witnessed. A big thank you goes out once again to Lesley
and Peter Fautley and Paul Cairns who do a tireless job in the kitchen making and preparing
the meals at our competitions and a big thank also goes out to Debbie Cairns who helped pre-
pare the main meal the day before but was unable to attend and help out due to other commit-
ments. Marking was completed as usual by Steve Killington in between his games and although
there was the odd mistake you cannot blame him (or can you) as he had exhaustive job
throughout the day.
