        spoken to harshly or rudely by a supervisor, believing



        that their employer did not fairly investigate whatever


        issue led to their termination, and feeling that they had


        been a victim of workplace bullying without any


        meaningful assistance or support from management.


               As we have said previously, none of these things


        are illegal.  But they do make people pick up the phone


        and call lawyers.  And, as you can tell from this book,


        there are many, many ways that employers can make


        expensive mistakes unintentionally.  It is the angry


        employee who will be looking for those mistakes, and


        you would be surprised how often they find them.


               By way of example, we had a client who was


        terminated from her job after she had disclosed a


        potentially serious health condition.  Her employer
