         ⇒  DISCRIPTION;An evergreen shrub

            to medium-sized tree. Branchlets
            have woolly hairs. Leaves are

            rough,     stellate (star-shaped)
            hairs on the upper surface, and

            soft hairs on the lower     surface.
            Flowers are solitary, yellow, with a maroon patch in the  centre. The fruit is a

            yellowish green to brown, five-lobed woody capsule, and is  edible. It grows up
            to 10m in height.




         ⇒  WHERE THEY ARE FOUND;The species is northern in distribution and its occur-
            rence in the south is probably due to introductions.
