Lupin Employee Handbook
Maryland Supplement
Lupin intends to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws in each of the states in
which it operates. This supplement is in addition to and supersedes Lupin’s Employee Handbook
in the event of an inconsistency. Lupin strives to stay current with all applicable employment laws.
In the event you become aware that a policy as stated in the Handbook, this Supplement, or as
otherwise practiced by Lupin is contrary to applicable law, please contact Human Resources
immediately. We want to do our best to ensure that all Company policies are fully compliant.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Equal Employment Opportunity
Lupin reaffirms its commitment as an Equal Opportunity Employer. It is the policy of the Company
not to discriminate against any employee or job applicant on the basis of race, color, religion,
national origin, age, sex, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression,
disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other federal, State of Maryland, or local
Maryland protected bases with regard to any employment decision. Lupin is committed to hiring,
promoting, transferring, and disciplining employees solely on the basis of their ability and
qualifications.
Parental Leave
Employees who have been employed by Lupin for at least 12 months are eligible for up to six
weeks of parental leave. Parental leave may be used for the birth of a child or the placement of a
child for adoption or foster care. Employees taking Parental Leave under this policy must use any
accrued paid leave during this period. After all accrued leave is exhausted, any additional leave
granted under this policy will be unpaid. The employee will continue to be covered by Lupin's
health insurance while on Parental Leave. Employees who intend to take Parental Leave must
provide notice to HR at least 30 days before their leave date will commence or as soon as they
learn of their need for leave, if 30 days' notice is not possible.
Maryland Flexible Leave
Eligible employees may choose to use any accrued paid time off benefits, such as vacation,
personal, or sick leave, due to the illness of an immediate family member, defined by Maryland
law as a child, spouse, or parent of the employee. Lupin may request sufficient notice and adequate
documentation of the need for flexible leave.
