PARENTING – the rearing of a child or children,
especially the care, love, and guidance given by a
parent.
PARI PASSU – on an equal footing.
PAROLE – a conditional release of a prisoner after
serving part of his/her sentence in prison for the
purpose of gradually re-introducing him/her to free
life under the guidance and supervision of a parole
officer.
PAROLE EVIDENCE – a rule in law regarding
contracts, and governs what kinds
of evidence parties to a contract dispute can
introduce to identify the specific terms of a
contract. For it to be admissible, the following
requisites must be present - the mistake should be
of fact; the mistake should be mutual or common
to both parties to the instrument; and the mistake
should be alleged and proved by clear and
convincing evidence.
PARRICIDE – the killing of own father, mother or
child whether legitimate or illegitimate or any of
ascendants or descendants or spouse.
PART OF THE RES GESTAE – are statements made
by a person while a startling occurrence is taking
place or immediately prior to or subsequent thereto
with respect to the circumstances thereof.
PARTIAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION – the
investigation of the background of an individual but
limited only to some of the circumstances of his
personal life which are deemed pertinent to the
