2017 JEWEL FOUR YEAR SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS
Kristopher Boyce
Store #3219 - Batavia, Cashier
Aurora University
Kristopher is involved in countless school activities and contributes numerous
hours giving back to his community. He is a leader among his peers serving in
the Dunham scholars marketing group, where he has taken a lead role in
planning and organizing the annual business group trip as well as training
Resident Assistants at Aurora University. Kristopher’s desire to give back to
his community is evident as he volunteered many hours working with the Girl
Scouts and Feed My Starving Children. Kristopher plans on utilizing his
degree in hopes of advancing his management career at Jewel-Osco to
potentially lead him into opportunities within the Marketing Department.
Jonnathan Flores
Store #3268 - Streamwood, Produce Clerk
Aurora University
Jonnathan has been described as “someone who always stays focused on
servicing customers, ensuring produce displays are full, fresh and neatly
displayed.” His Store Director comments that Jonnathan takes great pride in
his work and sets a solid example of leadership for others. In the past year,
Jonnathan has volunteered his time for seven different causes and
organizations in his community. The most impactful was Phil’s Friends,
where he put together care packages for those with cancer. After
graduation, Jonnathan plans on pursuing a management career with Jewel-
Osco and expressed future interest in pursuing opportunities within 24
Government Relations.
