2017 JEWEL FOUR YEAR SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS
Amanda Stauffer
Store #3073 - Normal, Cashier
Purdue Northwest University
Amanda is committed to serving her school and her peers. She served as a
member of the Spectator Heartland Community College, Phi Beta Lambda
Magazine, and participated in Project RISE, an educational student support
program. Her experience as a writer for her school’s magazine has allowed
her to develop networking skills as well as helped her form connections with
leaders in her school and community. Aside from this, Amanda has helped
establish tutoring sessions to assist those students struggling academically.
After graduation, Amanda plans on continuing her career in Jewel-Osco store
operations and hopes to eventually be considered for a Human Resources
opportunity.
Jonathan Jacildo
Store #3443 - Chicago, Cashier
Northeastern Illinois University
Jonathan feels strongly that just by being friendly, respectful and a good
listener, he has made a considerable difference in the relations between his
customers, the community and Jewel-Osco. His Store Director confirms this
statement and commented further that Jonathan has been working behind
the customer service desk for a number of years now and is considered to be
a trustworthy and reliable employee. Outside of work, Jonathan has spent
the past few years participating in his University’s IT Club as well as the Great
Books Student Society at Wright College. Jonathan plans on pursuing the
Store Management Training program to become a Store Director and has a 27
desire to someday work in the IT Department with Jewel-Osco.
