A letter to the older me

I want you to take a breather from whatever you’re doing at the moment and reminiscence about the
day you wrote this. I hope life has been generous to you. I hope your time as an adolescent was

memorable and fulfilling, and that college was extravagant. There is no doubt in my heart that the path
you chose in life was a harsh, yet enjoyable one.

Now sit back, kick your legs up and evoke your memories from ten years ago. Close your eyes and

recall your muses, dreams, and aspirations you had ten years ago. Doesn’t it hit close to home? All the
jovial times you spent with your loved ones, which might’ve felt like an insignificant contrivance at the

time. However, in actuality it felt like the happiest moment of your life.

I want you to be proud of the man you’ve become and by everything you’ve pulled off so far. Also, if

you ever hit a wall in life, remember that ” It’s the beauty in the struggle and the ugliness in the success”
                as J. Cole put it.

No matter how trifling it may seem, there is always something to gain from struggles in life.

Hopefully the morals you carried when you were fifteen still resides within you. I don’t want you to ever
lose sight of who you are and succumb to being a pessimistic simpleton. I still want you to treat people

with respect and lastly to be loved by your friends and family.
