P. 18
My name is Niamh. I am 11 years old
and this is my place. I have one sister, she
is called Zara, she is eight and all she does
is read.
I live next to a church in western Victoria.
I have a dog. He is called Turbo for
obvious reasons. My dad has a rooster
called Sunday. Sunday attacks people
who don’t feed him fast enough.
Our neighbours have a Shetland pony
called Lenny. He bites people’s fingers.
One day he sucked on some sheets, which
were drying on our line and turned a part of
them green. Another time he ripped the
sheets. Mum wasn’t happy.
We have a swing set, which we got for
Christmas. When my dad was building it,
he tricked us into thinking that it was for
grapevines to grow up.
In 2020 Covid 19 came. Everyone was wearing masks and we all had to stay home. It was pretty
boring. I watched a lot of TV. On one weekend, I watched 7 episodes of one of my favourite TV
shows, Gilmore Girls. When Corona Virus was lifting, I was excited to go back to school. But I
am so sick of hand sanitizer. When I grow up I want to be a primary school teacher.
