P. 15
My name is Lyncoln. I am 13
and I have lived on Cape Barren
Island for all my life. I have a little
sister, a mother and a stepfather who
I live with.
I have two dogs called Dolly and
Princess. I remember when I first got
Princess. My family and I were going
swimming and before I could make it
to the water, Princess came out of
nowhere and ran into me. She was
going so fast that when she hit me, I
did a flip in the air, but I landed safely
with no injuries. Dolly is a French
Bulldog and I don’t know what type of
dog Princess is. I also have a flock of
chicken, ducks and guinea fowls.
Cape Barren Island a gorgeous place
but the people here take it for granted
most of the time. There are those
times where you look over at Flinders
and notice the view or from your
window, you really notice the view in
those moments.
What I like about Cape Barren Island
is that if you’ve been off island and
come back, you really notice how
pretty it is. You tend to just take in the
view.
If you were to visit, you would see
bedrooms that explain us pretty well, a
lot of pot plants and a lot of red and
black.
I would normally be at one of my best
friend’s house but they moved away,
so I’ve been at my girlfriend’s house or
at my Nan’s house after school. I enjoy
playing video games, it helps keep me
entertained and it keeps me in contact
with my friends who have moved.
I have a couple of pet projects while I’m stuck at home. One of them is to get a platinum trophy
on my PS4.
I miss and am looking forward to seeing my best friends who can’t come to the island because
of Corona.
