Page 11 - RFDS - What is it like

Hi, my name is Marcus, I am 12 years old and
I live in Victoria. My house is the same size as my
neighbour’s house. I live with my two annoying
brothers, mum and dad.

I have a few fish, I chose a red shark and two
angelfish, and a dog named Sookie, she is a
Groodle.

We have a dirt bike, well my brothers and I
share a dirt bike, but we can’t go out because of
this virus called Covid 19. I couldn’t go and play
soccer with my team or practice on the pitch so
I played soccer in the backyard. My fun was
soon over because; well let’s just say dad had
to change a few light bulbs. So instead, I
worked on my mum’s dirt bike with dad and got
it to start. After that, dad and I cleaned the shed
out, got my dirt bike, and rode it. I sprayed by
brothers with dirt and mud as I rode off into the
distance.

Then school got cancelled, not complaining, but I couldn’t see my friends and then I went back to
school on Wednesday and Fridays. It was weird because not many people were there and it was
dead.

After the restrictions lifted, I could go and see my friends and after school, I could go down the court
and play with my friends. Their names are Eve, Ethan, Ruby and Joey.

Sometimes Eve, Ethan and I
have a picnic and we all bring
some food to share. We put a
small table in the middle and put
two blankets either side and
some rocks to keep it down. It’s
really fun but when it starts to rain
we’re all in trouble because the
blankets get heavy and then they
collapse on us and we have to get
out and rush everything in the
garage.
