BCIS International Relations Inauguration 2018
The Inauguration Ceremony of the Academic
programme in International Relations at the
Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies (BCIS)
was held on Saturday, 10 March 2018 at the BCIS
Auditorium.
Ms. Pang Chunxue, Deputy Head of Mission at the
Embassy of the People's Republic of China to Sri Lanka
graced this occasion as the Chief Guest, whilst Ms.
Madhu Dissanayake, Assistant Representative of the
UNFPA attended the ceremony as the Guest of Honour.
The Keynote Address titled 'Indian Ocean: Maritime
Security’ was delivered by Prof. Gamini Keerawella,
Executive Director of the Regional Centre for Strategic
Studies (RCSS) & Member of the BCIS Council of
Management.
The Publication on “Sixty Years of China - Sri Lanka
Relations” was also launched at the Inauguration
Ceremony A large number of students who registered .
for the Certi icate, Diploma, Higher Diploma and
Postgraduate Diploma programmes in International
Relations as well as the Diploma course in Human Rights
participated at the event.

The BCIS had its Language Programme Inauguration
ceremony for the academic year 2018 A batch on

Her Excellency Hauna Elena Ramos Rodrigues
Ambassador of Cuba in Sri Lanka graced this occasion as
the Chief Guest and Smt. Rajashree Behera, Director of the
Indian Cultural Centre, Mr. Gabriel Gunesekera,
Director/Sales & Marketing, Kingsbury Hotel, Mr. Kapila
Palihawadana, Founder/Artistic Director, nATANDA
Dance Theatre of Sri Lanka graced the occasion as Guests
of Honour.
