Language Award Ceremony 2018
The Language Awards Ceremony organized by the Language & Cultural Studies Division of the
th
Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies (BCIS) was held on 25 May 2018 at the Lotus Hall of the
BMICH. Emeritus Professor Deshamanya J. B. Disanayaka, former Sri Lankan Ambassador to Thailand
graced the occasion as the Chief Guest while Mr. Jean–Philippe Gavois, Cultural & Cooperation Counsellor,
Embassy of France in Sri Lanka and Maldives and Mr. Kiichiro Iwase, First Secretary, Head of the Political
Section, Embassy of Japan in Sri Lanka graced the occasion as the Guests of Honour. The students who
successfully completed their academic programmes in learning languages in the year 2017 were awarded
certi icates on this occasion.
