New Courses
This year has seen big changes to the KS4 Creative Arts;
with 2 new courses, 3D and Photography added to their list.

Photographic Competition
Pupils from Year 8 were invited to take part in South Pennine Academies’
first ever Photography Competition. The theme was ‘Where We Live’.
The photos had to capture an aspect of their community of which they
were proud of or which they find distinctive and special.
Students were allowed to use photo editing software to adjust colour or
contrast and to crop their images.

Street Art
Year 10 Design students had a master
class in spray can art, using stencils
they had created based on the theme
Day of the Dead.

Photoshop Skills

Graphics students had a skills builder
session, developing their own artwork
into graphical illustrations.

Workshop Lessons

Students have been taking advantage of the
specialist skills that the Creative Arts team
have, by attending after-school workshop
lessons, developing skills in Screen printing,
3D modelling, Illustration, Watercolour
painting, were amongst the favourites.

Exhibition Time

Year 11 Art and Design, Graphics, 3D and Photography
students are currently under way, adding their finishing
touches to their GCSE Creative exhibitions.
This has taken many hours of dedication and creative talent.
