SPEAK IN COLOURS
▪ Mind your verbal tics
Improvisation, hesitation, looking for the « right » word and sometimes just liking the
sound of your voice can lead to an accumulation of verbal tics, filler words :
Ah… And Ah… You know… Well…
This sort of language « pollution » can go unnoticed by some but become absolutely
unbearable for others.
One solution: change your verbal tics for silences
▪ Don’t be monotonous, speak in colours
Who has never suffered from a presenter speaking with a flat and monotonous
voice?
One solution : let your voice express your emotions
Organise your thoughts and give each chapter its own rhythm, its own colour
▪ Don’t think about the next sentence : there’s a time for everything
Be 100% in what you are saying, using sentences that are independent.
Don’t try and say everything: say less and you’ll say it better.
Every idea has a colour: use humour, vary the tone
After every idea, pause, keep eye contact and breathe deeply
