FILL THE SPACE AROUND YOU
Your impact will have the visual dimension of the space you occupy
Open up to your audience – but not too much and not too little
Fill the space around you:
There is a magic circle of about one meter in diameter around you, fill it comfortably with your gestures
If you use less space, you will appear introverted If you use more, you
will appear exuberant
Once you start talking, do not touch your body any more: your arms have more important things to say...
Show your conviction by extending your arms towards the public
Moving around the floor:
Stand so that you have the entire group within your field of vision (outer field of vision)
Keep people’s attention, stand still (freeze action). Your power zone is the center of the stage
To break the ice, move to one side (to encourage the group to react, for example)
Move about calmly. If you enter the group, don’t go too far and return to the center afterwards
To show something on the flip charts or screen, stand back as far as possible so that you will continue to
face the group (show the image from the side with an open gesture)
Speak loudly,
Try not to wander around. Stand still from time to time
YOUR MAGIC CIRCLE IS
YOUR PERIMETER OF
COMFORT
OCCUPY IT COOLLY AND
FREELY
