Type II Fun IV
Barnabas
Did you know there are different kinds of fun in the world? I’m not talking about the
difference between video games and snowboarding. There actually are three types of
fun, bear with me.
I II III
Type I Fun: Doing activities you like to do such as, snowboarding, playing video games,
or underwater basket weaving. These are activities that you really like to do, and you
want to keep doing them. Typically, you stop doing these fun things because you run
out of time, money, or mom’s patience. These are the things that most normal people
think of when you say, “let’s go do something fun.”
Then there is Type II Fun… these are activities that aren’t genuinely fun when you are
doing them but are fun to tell stories about at the dinner table or over drinks at the bar.
Type II Fun activities are things like long distance backpacking, mountain climbing, and
most military operations. Not fun in the traditional sense, but fun to reminisce about
with friends.
