Hands down, my favorite hitch is the taut line hitch. Probably because it lets me be lazy
on measuring out the exact amount of rope that I need when putting up my tarp after a
long day of backpacking. It only takes a few minutes to get a nice snug tarp secured
with a couple taut line hitches.
