after the lockdown. He also did not think the name needed to change
as it could be confusing and costly.

Peter Mockford suggested that it should be approved in principle and
put on hold until the time is right.

                   Decision:
The Board members agreed to approve the carcass classification in
principle. The name change will be discussed again in future if
necessary. Johann Kotzé must continue working on the carcass
                   classification system. EB 08/2020-13/05/2020

The dashboards were going ahead. The latest dashboard contains the
producer prices. The SAPPO lawyers who previously handled the
Competition Commission case were consulted on the matter to ensure
that the industry does not contravene the law.

It was working well and the extent of information gathered was
demonstrated at the Business Development Committee meeting.

                   Traceability project
A pilot project on traceability was done in conjunction with Lynca. The
pig can be traced from the moment it is loaded on the truck. Farmers
will now participate in a trial run of the App to make sure it works well.

The Board members were informed that Isabel Bröcker had resigned from
SAPPO and that the position will be filled.

The BDMs conducted various on-line training during the lockdown

                   Farm Visits
The meeting noted that farm visits might change in the near future. The
biosecurity currently held by the BDMs was increased.

Farmers’ days will also change in that much smaller groups will be hosted.

The data on small-scale farmers documented by SAPPO could benefit
                   the industry.
